Nigerian forward Jerome Akor notched two goals as Montpellier secured a 3-0 victory on the road against Lorient at the Stade Yves Allainmat-Le Moustoir on Sunday night.
Akor opened the scoring for the away team at the half-hour mark, courtesy of an assist from Mousa Tamari.
Midfielder Teji Tavanier extended the lead with a successful penalty kick in the 73rd minute.
Akor added his second goal of the match in the final minute of play.
The 23-year-old has now tallied five goals in seven appearances for Montpellier in the current league season.
This win marked Montpellier’s first victory in their last six league matches.
