Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has stated that the club won’t be adding a new striker to their squad in January. This announcement comes in the midst of rumors linking the Gunners with a potential move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
During the summer transfer window, Arteta allowed Folarin Balogun to join Monaco, which left Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus as the senior strikers in his squad. However, Nketiah and Jesus have only managed to score three goals in the Premier League this season.

Despite their goal-scoring struggles, Arteta maintains his confidence in the pair. When asked whether he felt the need for another striker ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Manchester City, Arteta responded by saying, “We have faith in the players that we currently have. Additionally, we need to consider our available resources, and at the moment, we believe we have adequate coverage for that position.”

It’s worth noting that Ivan Toney is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching betting regulations.
