Man United intends to part ways with three high-priced offensive players during the upcoming January transfer window.
Incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is poised to seek explanations regarding Manchester United’s expenditure of £1.4 billion on players since Sir Alex Ferguson retired a decade ago. Although current manager Erik ten Hag is not the sole responsible party, his priciest signing, Antony, is reportedly facing removal in January. The decision to invest £85 million in the Brazilian winger was driven by Ten Hag, but Antony has significantly underperformed, leading to doubts about Ten Hag’s suitability for the demands of English football.

The ex-Ajax player has been associated with a potential move back to Brazil, although Flamengo’s vice-president dismissed rumors this week about their interest in loaning the player. On the other hand, Jadon Sancho continues to be sidelined after declining to apologize to his manager for the statement released when he was dropped from the squad before September’s match against Arsenal

Due to dissatisfaction with the England international’s demeanor in training, and with no resolution in sight, Man United is poised to part ways with Sancho, possibly with a return to Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, Anthony Martial is likely to be considered expendable as he has slipped down Ten Hag’s preference list, with summer signing Rasmus Hojlund taking precedence. Despite the recent defeat and underwhelming performances, the young Denmark international, who scored two more goals against FC Copenhagen, affirms that the squad continues to support their beleaguered manager.
Of Ten Hag, Hojlund said: ‘A really good coach. He cares about every single detail and he helps me a lot, gives me a lot of confidence and supports me.
‘I think every player in the dressing room supports him. I hope it is just a matter of time [before United will be successful].
‘The first 30 minutes today was some of the best football we have been playing this season.’
