Owen Hargreaves has slammed Manchester United midfielder Casemiro for his role in Burnley’s equalising goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Antony’s goal put Manchester United ahead in the 79th minute, but they once again failed to secure all three points when Zeki Amdouni converted a penalty with just three minutes remaining in the match
During an odd moment in the game, Brazilian player Casemiro tried to head the ball back to goalkeeper Andre Onana, resulting in a chaotic situation in the penalty area due to his high, looping header.
Onana rushed out of the goal to punch the ball away, but ended up colliding with Amdouni instead.
Before that mishap, the Cameroon international was having a great game, making several key saves to fend off the Clarets – notably an impressive quick reflex save to block Lyle Foster’s close-range shot.
Reviewing the penalty incident, former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves placed equal blame on Casemiro, criticizing his late decision not to clear the ball safely as ‘unbelievable’.

That header from Casemiro is unbelievable, I don’t know what he is thinking,’Owen Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.
‘Onana comes out and yes, he clatters into Amdouni but the header from Casemiro, it is just not on. At that stage of the game.Owen Hargreaves added
‘Onana is going to get criticised but he kept them in the game, He made some big saves today.’
Christian Eriksen also expressed frustration over his team’s failure to maintain a lead, noting that they have now lost points from winning positions in five of their last seven matches.
‘We had the three points in our hands going into the last minutes of ordinary time. We should be able to keep a clean sheet and get the win,’ Eriksen said.
‘I still think there could be some bits that could be better [in my own performance].
‘I made a few decisions that could be better, putting my teammate or myself in a better area around the pitch.
‘But I’m trying to do my best and like you said, I haven’t had as much game time. When you’re playing, you have to do your best and that’s what I’m trying to do.’
