Chelsea vs Fluminense:Predicted line ups, injury news ahead of CWC semis.

Joao Pedro may earn his first full start for Chelsea in tonight’s Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.

The Blues will take on the Brazilian side — featuring their former defender Thiago Silva — in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Tuesday.

Pedro made his Chelsea debut as a substitute in the previous round against Palmeiras, but could be handed his first start if Enzo Maresca includes him in the starting lineup.

Chelsea are set to make changes for their semi-final against Fluminense, with both Liam Delap and Levi Colwill suspended after receiving their second yellow cards of the tournament in the quarter-final.

Nicolas Jackson, who returned from a two-match suspension following a red card against Flamengo, was an unused substitute in the last game. With Delap unavailable, either Jackson or Pedro is expected to lead the attack, while Christopher Nkunku is also an option.

“With Levi and Liam out, we’ll need to find another solution,” Maresca said on Monday. “Joao is ready. We’ve got Nico as well. We’ll definitely find a way.”

Benoit Badiashile suffered an injury in the round-of-16 victory over Benfica so won’t feature, meaning Tosin Adarabioyo could partner Trevoh Chalobah at centre-back.

Reece James and Romeo Lavia have slight niggles, but while James is set to be available, Lavia will not be risked.

“Romeo is training already,” Maresca said. “But, unfortunately, he’s not training with us. So he’s not ready for tomorrow.”

Andrey Santos started in midfield against Palmeiras but could make way now that Moises Caicedo is back from suspension.

Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens will not be involved in the clash with Fluminense, as both are still representing Palmeiras and Borussia Dortmund respectively in the Club World Cup. They will only become available to Chelsea after the tournament concludes.
