Manchester United have had a £65 million offer for Bryan Mbeumo accepted by Brentford as per The Athletic

The Cameroon international is expected to complete his medical before Ruben Amorim’s squad departs for their pre-season tour of the United States on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old winger is poised to become United’s third signing of the summer, following the additions of forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon.

United initially submitted a £55 million bid in early June, followed by a £62.5 million offer later that month, both of which were rejected.

However, Brentford have agreed to the latest proposal — a £65 million fee with potential add-ons of £5 million, bringing the total to £70 million.

Mbeumo, who joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019, will now become the club’s record sale.

Mbeumo achieved career-best numbers in the Premier League last season across nearly all attacking statistics, including goals, assists, chances created, and touches inside the opponent’s box.

He also boasted a shot conversion rate of 23.53%, making him one of the league’s most efficient finishers—surpassed only by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

Mbeumo’s defensive contributions were also impressive, as he regained possession 32 times in the attacking third — the third-highest tally among all Premier League players.

However, his standout attribute is his ability to drive forward with the ball. In the 2024–25 season, he completed nine ball carries of over five metres that directly led to goals — more than any other player in the Premier League during that campaign.

Mbeumo’s potential move to Manchester United will see the Red Devils complete their third signing for the senior team after the arrival of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.

Manchester United will now turn their attention to agreeing personal terms and conducting medical tests before officially unveiling Mbeumo. To manage their finances following this high-profile signing, the club is also likely to sell some players. Mbeumo’s ability to play in multiple attacking roles will offer Ruben Amorim greater tactical options for the upcoming season.
