Kenya’s Harambee Stars exceeded expectations in their maiden African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 appearance, topping Group A and securing a spot in the quarterfinals alongside second-placed Morocco.
They stayed in Nairobi to take on Madagascar on Friday, August 22, at 5:00 p.m. at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. Below is a timeline of the eagerly awaited showdown between Kenya and Madagascar.

Madagascar advanced to the quarterfinals as Group B runners-up with seven points, trailing group leaders Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, who collected 10. Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic bowed out after finishing third, fourth, and fifth with seven, three, and one point respectively.

Victory over Madagascar would send the Harambee Stars into their first-ever semifinal, where they would face the winner of Saturday’s Algeria vs. Sudan encounter at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
