Manchester United have handed the iconic No. 10 shirt to new arrival Matheus Cunha, taking it away from Marcus Rashford, sources have revealed to ESPN
Rashford, who hasn’t played for United since December, spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The 27-year-old has been instructed by the club to delay his return to training at Carrington as he continues exploring a move away from Old Trafford. The rest of the squad is set to resume preseason preparations on Monday.
Meanwhile, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia have also notified the club of their desire to leave this summer and have been granted extended time off to finalize potential transfers.

All five are expected back at United later in July if moves have not materialised.
Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United squad are scheduled to head to Chicago on July 22 for a three-match preseason tour of the United States.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have opted not to make Marcus Rashford’s loan move permanent, turning down the £40 million ($54.56 million) buy option. United have maintained that price tag for any interested clubs, but no concrete offers have been received so far.
ESPN is reporting that Rashford’s camp is optimistic Barcelona may reignite their interest, particularly after Nico Williams committed to a new long-term deal with Athletic Club. Bayern Munich, also in the market for a winger and previously linked with Williams, could emerge as another potential destination.
Barcelona have also expressed interest in Liverpool winger Luis Díaz, though the Merseyside club remain firm in their refusal to entertain any offers for the Colombian international. According to ESPN sources, Marcus Rashford is still prioritising a move abroad, ideally to a club competing in the Champions League.

Rashford has three years remaining on his Manchester United contract, but the club is open to loaning him out for the season—on the condition that any deal would offload a significant portion of his wages.
The England forward has worn the No. 10 shirt at United since 2018, taking it over from Zlatan Ibrahimović. New signing Matheus Cunha, who joined in a £62.5 million transfer from Wolves, is set to inherit the number, which he also wore during his time at Molineux.
