Newcastle United, a Premier League club, is contemplating a potential move for Victor Boniface, a forward currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface made his transfer to Bayer Leverkusen from the Belgian Pro League team, Union St Gilloise, for a fee of €12 million during the summer transfer window.
The robust striker has garnered attention due to his impressive performance, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in just 10 matches for Bayer Leverkusen.
According to The Sun, Newcastle United’s scouts observed Boniface in action while representing Nigeria in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia in Portugal last weekend. Although the 22-year-old did not score, he posed a significant threat to the Saudi defense, ultimately leading to an own goal.
Newcastle United’s manager, Eddie Howe, is eager to bolster his team’s attacking prowess and believes that Boniface is a prime candidate who can provide the desired physicality to complement players like Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
