Roy Keane believes at least 10 Manchester United players should leave the club next summer.

After securing a 2-1 victory against Chelsea on Wednesday evening, United now hold the sixth position in the Premier League. However, Erik ten Hag has been under scrutiny for his team’s inconsistent performances throughout the season.

Roy Keane thinks that a number of players in Ten Hag’s team lack the quality to establish a lasting position, including those who were brought in during the Dutchman’s tenure.

During a game of ‘Keep, last straw or ditch’ on the Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville went through almost every player in the current United squad and among those Keane listed in the ‘ditch’ category were Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho

Keane included Sofyan Amrabat, United’s summer acquisition on loan from Fiorentina in September, among the players who, in his opinion, shouldn’t retain a spot in Ten Hag’s squad.

In the ‘last straw’ category Keane placed Andre Onana, who joined in a £47 million deal from Inter in the summer, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay.

Keane was also hesitant about Rashford’s long-term future at Old Trafford.

‘I’m not sure about Marcus,’ Keane said.

‘The whole package… personality, his mood swings. He’s a talented player, but if you’re not going to work hard, and he’s having these dips every now and again, there’s all this talk about his confidence, off-the-field stuff. Just turn up every week and do the business.

‘Marcus is 26. When’s the penny going to drop for him?’

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Bournemouth will be looking to build on their midweek victories in the Premier League when they square off at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherries will be seeking revenge against the Red Devils after they lost both home and away fixtures to Erik ten Hag‘s side last season by an aggregate score of 4-0.

The match will be played starting on 9 Dec 2023 at 15:00 UTC at Old Trafford stadium, Manchester city, England.
